Questions and Answers

Has anyone actually tried the master cleanse diet and really lost weight?

I'm planning to start the diet soon, I just wanted to know who has lost weight on this diet? And how did you stick to a diet like this? I heard Beyonce tried it and lost 20lbs in 2 weeks, it just seems unbelievable. Thanks for your answers.

[display_name id="1"]

Hi there, I'm on my 8th day of a master cleanse right now. I did one previously in 2003 for 15 days, and I really recommend it as a way to feel good and to give your whole digestive apparatus a break. And although I am losing weight, strictly speaking the master cleanse is a cleanse, and not a diet for losing weight.
What I learned from the last one I did was the importance of how you prepare for the cleanse and how you return to your normal eating patterns afterwards. I just started it when I felt I was ready psychologically, I made sure I got excercise every day (forget vigorous excercise; you just won't have the juice for it after a few days) and then when I was done I simply resumed normal eating.
This was a bad idea; I went through several days of uncomfortable stomach pains as my punishment. And, while I was on the cleanse, in 15 days I lost 32 pounds. But by coming off it the wrong way I negated most of that effect, and once my system had settled down I had lost 15 pounds in 15 days; that's still a lot of weight loss for that amount of time, but jumping around in weight is hard on your heart, and the idea of a cleanse is to improve your health, not punish your body.
Anyway, this time my strategy was to spend 3 weeks in preparation. I ate only a bowl of miso broth every day for protien, a cup of long grain brown rice every other day, and whatever fruits and vegetables I wanted in any quantity that suited me (except high fat ones like avocados and bananas) plus some oil in salad dressings or to cook my veggies in for lubrication. Then I started the cleanse.
When I come off the cleanse, my plan is to follow the recommended advice and to start by eating a monodiet of a single vegetable for the first day or two (it's going to be brussel sprouts for me, but it can be any vegetable that is easy for your body to break down; I wouldn't necessarily want to start with carrots or corn). Then I will add another vegetable for a day or two (I'm thinking either baked onions or cauliflaur). After that I will add another vegetable. I will keep adding veggies one day at a time for 4 – 6 days, depending on how I feel, and then I will resume my rice-miso-fruits-veggies regime for two weeks, and then I will resume my normal diet.
My original plan was to try and do it for longer than I did last time, but my energy levels have been seriously flagging and so now I have revised my plan and I will do it for 10 days only, which is generally considered to be the minimum amount of time to be on it and get positive benefits.
In the long term, I think it is my preparation time and my coming down time that will have the most positive benefits in terms of weight loss. In the three weeks of prep I did I lost 10 pounds (and that includes the turkey-feasting weekend long break I had at the end of that time while I celebrated Canadian thanksgiving with my family). Beyond that I have lost another 16 pounds since I started the cleanse 8 days ago.
But don't foget that to lose a pound of fat you need to burn 3600 calories, which means that for two pounds a day it would mean that I am burning 7200 calories a day, which I am CERTAINLY NOT doing with the reduced energy levels I am dealing with. I would be surprised if I have exceeded 1500 calories a day with my reduced activity level.
So I think in some way the apparent weight loss is a bit of an illusion and the way to make it real will happen with the time I spend controlling my diet for 2 or 3 weeks after I finish the cleanse.
As for sticking to the diet, it does take discipline. If you are unaccustomed to fasting then maybe you should try something like taking a juice fast every Monday for a while or try eating a mondiet for a few days (for example, eat only grapes or apples or broccoli). It will help you get used to what fasting is like.
The hardest days on the master cleanse are the first 3 or 4, while your stomach is shrinking. After that you get used to it and you may even find that you have a surplus of energy freed up because you are no longer spending energy digesting food.
I try to enjoy what I can. I have been having delicious dreams about food every night, and when I smell something tasty, I don't plug my nose and run away, I enjoy it for the beautiful smell; I just don't follow that up by putting it in my mouth.
I think it is also important to do something to stimulate your bowels. Downward pressure from your most recent meal plays a big part in giving you the need to poop. You won't be putting anything new into your stomach, but your body will still deposit toxins and other gunk in yur bowels for elimination, and it is important not to let it sit there for the duration of your cleanse where it can get foul and poison your body.
I have been using an herbal tea made from senna leaves, which you can get at any health food stores and even a lot of grocery stores, to stimulate my bowels. It's not good to use for too long because you can create a dependency, so some days instead I drink 2 litres of warm salt water which flushes through my system fairly quickly.
Beyond simply the weight loss factor I have also been using a tape measure, and I've been amazed to notice that while on the cleanse I'm taking almost a 1/2 inch off my waist daily. I feel like I'm already looking a lot thinner, and I think I'll be quite skinny by he time I'm done.
Anyway, that's how I'm dealing with the cleanse. If you do it then be careful, and be aware. Good luck!!

Weight loss tip 1: Decide how much weight you need to lose – Most people start their weight loss journey by claiming to be xyz kilos overweight. This isn't a healthy way to project or aim for weight loss. Calculate your desired weight against your height by using reliable methods like the BMI, and set a healthy weight loss target. This is often half the battle won.

Weight loss tip 2: Time management – This is quite often overlooked. Decide which part of your day will be dedicated to exercise, when in the week you will stock up on groceries, and when you will do the cooking – all within your current work and home life routine. If you don't do this now, your days will be rushed and unplanned, and you won't be able to sustain your weight loss efforts.

Weight loss tip 3: Stock your kitchen – Keep your house well-stocked with fruits, vegetables, healthy meats, grains, cereals, spices, and flavourers. Follow our tricks to healthy cooking, cooking vegetables for the week, and low-fat cooking posts to understand how best you can stock your kitchen with healthy and delicious ingredients. All of this will go into helping the next step – cooking healthy meals at home.

Weight loss tip 4: Eat healthy homecooked meals – Whether it's you who's cooking, a family member, or house help, ensure that every one practises healthy cooking methods, and ingredients. Ask any person who's lost weight the healthy way, and you will always hear about how healthy homecooked meals were a big reason behind it. Use less oil, low salt, fresh produce, and you'll start seeing results in no time.

Weight loss tip 5 : Start a cardio + weights workout – A healthy weight loss programme is incomplete without a good exercise routine, and weight training mixed with cardio is the best way to lose weight. Of course, variations and forms exist, but any workout that stresses on muscle tone and increased heart rate will always help you lose weight and keep it off. You can either start a home workout today, or rely on gyms for fitness training.

Weight loss tip 6: Alter your snacking habits . Set those French fries aside, skip that aerated drink, and ban those unhealthy deep fried samosas. Explore the healthy snack world and you will find several appetisers, party snacks, movie snacks and meal accompaniments that'll satisfy every craving of yours.

Weight loss tip 7: Have at least one active hobby – It isn't sufficient to rely on just 30 to 60 minutes of physical activity per day. Moving from bed to office chair, and back to bed, isn't a healthy way to live. Buy a motion sensor gaming console that lets you enjoy social games with friends and family, plan weekend trips, clean your house once a week, dance, play sports, the list is endless. Get out of the coffee shop and dining table rut, and you'll have fun along with the healthy weight loss

Weight loss tip 9: Drink plenty of water – You've known that your body relies heavily on water for all important bodily functions, and yet you skimp on drinking adequate quantities of water every day. Well, it's time to stop that. Check out some exciting ways to make water interesting and you'll be packing it away in no time. Do not forget to carry a water bottle to your workout, and take a few sips after every 2-3 minutes of exercise.

Weight loss tip 10: Plan healthy vacations – Why go all the way with healthy weight loss, when one tiny vacation will just come along and topple it all? Healthy vacations aren't impossible. Take a look at how you can eat smart on a holiday, and then at bodyweight workouts that you can carry with you wherever you go, to understand how to holiday right. Above all, remember that these are lifelong habits that'll help you stay fit forever and not short term weight loss quickfixes

good luck.

You might lose some weight but it is not a very good plan. To lose weight you need to burn more calories than you consume. Even though you didn't eat a lot of food, you probably had a lot of calories and not enough nutrition.

Weight loss is an overall process and there are no magic answers. Pay no attention to weight loss supplements and pills and all the latest fads. You need to think about many factors but most of them are related to issues we've known about for a very long time. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.

Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

Make a few additional small changes – walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.

Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can't get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one.

In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy.

Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate – in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don't. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies.

Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day.

Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.

Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body.

Vary your routines. Don't eat the same number of calories every day (vary your calories from 1400 a day to 1900 or 2000 some days), eat a variety of foods, and do different kinds and amounts of exercise. You will lose weight much more efficiently if you mix things up from time to time so that your body doesn't adjust to any one routine.

An area that many people overlook is getting enough sleep. You are much more likely to overeat or to binge eat if you are tired and not well rested, so get enough sleep.

Fastest way to lose belly fat?

To lose belly fat, you have to lose weight. When you lose weight, you lose fat all over your body. You can't target the belly fat.

To do this:

1. Check your diet. Fix it. Clean out the fried fatty oily stuff, candies, chips. Start eating meat and veggies. Chicken, beef, pork, vegetables, eggs, milk. Yummy! No more fast food. YUCK.

2. Exercise. Start walking or running or jogging like 30 minutes to 1 hour everyday. This'll help burn calories.

3. Lift weights. Muscles burn more calories than fat. Even if you are sleeping, if you have muscle, you will be burning extra calories. So go to the gym 3x a week and do a full body workout every time. Your body will thank you.

In Summary:

1. Diet. Eat Clean.

2. Walk.

3. Lift weights build muscle. You will not only lose the belly fat, you will look good ALL OVER!

Ab crunches and other ab workouts DO NOT lose belly fat. Proper diet is 90% of losing fat and proper exercises are 10%. For diet obviously stay clear of fat or high sugar. For exercise do cardio (running, swimming, bicycling) and core (plank, etc) workouts. Google search core workouts they will really pull that belly in.

Simple Tips For Losing Belly Fat

Whether we want to admit it or not, many of us deal with this problem. It remains there with us, no matter how much we fight it, hide it, or try to deny it. It can make us feel uncomfortable, self-conscious. It is belly fat, and it will not go away, no matter what we do! You are not alone, if you find yourself in this place. In fact, belly fat is one of the most common nuisances people deal with, and this is due largely to the fact that it is difficult to know exactly how to get rid of it. If you are fighting a losing belly fat battle, here are a few things you can do to turn things around.

First off, losing that belly fat takes more than healthy eating; it also takes exercise. You have to do more than just stomach exercises, too; you have to add in aerobic workouts, ones that get your heart pumping. By taking just three or four days a week to walk, jog, bike, or swim, you can kick your metabolism up a notch. If you want to shed that pesky flab, this is absolutely vital.

Next, you need to work out all parts of your body – not just your stomach. It might seem absurd to believe that you can burn belly fat by doing curls or squats, but it is true! By working out all parts of your body, you will optimize your body’s ability to burn fat. These workouts do not need to be extreme or incredibly intense. Find something simple that you can stick with, and then stick with it!

And finally, of course, you can certainly help your battle against stomach fat by doing stomach exercises. Do not just stick with one thing, though; mix it up by doing crunches, sit-ups, and other ab exercises. You will be burning fat in your abdominal area at the same time you are building muscle.

Having a healthy diet and doing stomach workouts are important if you want to lose belly fat, but you cannot win the battle by doing these two things alone. Take the time to figure out a workout schedule that works for you, where you can get your aerobic exercise and fit in workouts that take care of your entire body. That belly fat will finally begin to disappear, and you will be thrilled that you made the effort!

This is not specifically for weight loss, but it is for absolute health. And if you are over weight, it's not healthy, and you WILL lose weight by "FASTING". It is the most (bar none) heathiest thing anyone can do for themselves. Not only will you lose weight, you will be, and feel heathier than you ever have in the past. Read up on it as much as you can, but a few tips you must do are:
Drink pure fluid, double strain all fresh juice (NO pulp)
Drink plenty of distilled water
Make a vegetable broth (double strain it) and drink everyday
NO solid food at all
You must do an enema everyday to get rid of toxins
Scrub dead skin aff your body daily

Do this for a week. You will be hungry for 2 days, but when your body realizes you aint giving it any food, it will begin to eat the fat stored in your body. First it will eat any cysts if you have them, then it will eat other fat, including the fat around your gut. You will be most importantly healthier, and of course leaner.

Read up on Fasting as much as you can first, as it is important that you do it right. The enema sucks, but it is very important.

Aha well I'm pretty biased I gotta admit (hence my username), but Jillian Michaels IS a top-notch personal trainer and I've heard quite a few success stories from her online weight loss program.

Her weight loss program probably incorporates a lot of other factors that other programs don't considering the amount of research she does and the fact that she quite a few books out on weight loss and one on metabolism which just came out in April.

I've learned a lot just by listening to her radio show so I expect that this program of hers that you actually have to pay for should be pretty damn effective.

Here are some of the most effective weight loss tips to help you get (or stay) on track to a healthier, better-looking body:

1.Drink ice water. The simplest of the weight loss tips, it helps body burns up to 40 calories just by turning up its metabolism in order to warm the water.

2.Have an early dinner so that you have an hour or two to take a short walk after dinner. In between meals, when you feel like eating something, reach out for a glass of water that will make you feel fuller soon.

3.One of the effective weight loss tips is while cooking, lower the heat so that you can use less oil. Cut down on the use of hot, spicy foods. In fact, it would be much wiser to eliminate them from your diet.

Questions and Answers

Quick weight loss strategy?

I'm 15 year old male, about 5'7 and weigh around 260 please help me! I eat alot and sometimes I have self control but I think alot of the problem is due to me eating unhealthy foods. I'm looking to lose atleast 80 pounds but people tell me that it takes almost a year but when I think about how long it will take I quit wanting to workout( I do occasionally). What's the quickest way to lose this kind of sick and disgusting weight?

Posted by Jd Mn
[display_name id="1"]

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym – a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).
Do not think about a year and long. Think about now. When you lose your
first ten pounds, you will already see the difference, and you will look better NOW,
though maybe not as good as you like at once, but in the process, you will
look and feel better. Live in the moment. Then, when you are used to the routine,
it won't bother you anymore.

Weight loss!?

What are good ideas for lossing weight at home? I am already going to start cutting down the amount of junk food i am eating, but is there any special workout or food that will decrease the time it takes to loss A FEW pounds.

No matter which way you look at it, 3,500 calories cut is one pound lost. Whether you take in 500 fewer or reduce 500 more calories a day, by the end of the week you will be one pound lighter! You will not stick to a diet that is comprised of foodstuffs you do not like. Choose your program carefully. Do a trial period before investing a lot of money on something like pre-packaged foodstuffs. You should ask yourself how long you can easily live because of this. If you could potentially t imagine staying on a certain plan until you reach your goal weight, try something else. Going on and off the same strategy again and again leads to yo-yo dieting. You will require to blueprint alternative strategies to cope with emotional eating. A variety of individuals with weight dilemmas have the habit of eating in response to emotions and stress.

How to lose abdominal fat, lose weight?

I've been doing sit-ups for over a month, yeah people can get good ab muscle tone from that, but how do you really get to loose those ab fat? Is jogging a good way of doing it?

The only solution to consistently lose your abdominal fat and keep it off for good is to combine a sound nutritious diet full of unprocessed natural foods with a properly designed strategic exercise program that stimulates the necessary hormonal and metabolic response within your body. Both your food intakes as well as your training program are important if you are to get this right.

Here is a list of some Super Foods “Healthy Fat Burner Foods “.
1- Raw milk, full-fat raw milk certainly does not make you any fatter. Many people who "think" they are lactose intolerant actually can drink raw milk without a problem? This is because the live enzymes and friendly bacteria in raw milk aid in the digestion of the lactose and the proteins in milk. These enzymes and friendly bacteria are destroyed in pasteurized milk, which makes it more difficult to digest for many people. And don't forget the high levels of fat-burning, muscle building CLA in full-fat, raw, grass fed milk (and omega-3).

2- Eggs, eggs are basically meat. Eggs are practically a perfect food in term of nutrition density.

3- Extra virgin olive oil, for lower temperature cooking or used as a healthy salad dressing oil.

4- Virgin coconut oil, great for temperatures of cooking due to it’s high stability under heat. A great source of healthy saturated fats.

5- Fermented Foods, Fermentation allows the bacteria, yeasts and mold to predigest and therefore break down the carbohydrates, fats, and proteins to create probiotics which offer friendly bacteria into the digestive tract. This helps keep our immune system strong and supports overall digestive health. Fermented foods include: Acidophilus milk, blue cheese, chocolate, cider, coffee, cultured vegetables, kefir, olives, pickles, soy sauce, tea, vinegar, and yogurt.

6- Grass fed meats and wild caught salmon, have more beta-carotene, vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acids than beef produced using conventional cattle-feeding strategies.

7- Grass fed raw dairy cheeses and butter, they are a complete and properly balanced food. Raw dairy contains a wealth of healthy substances including: amino acids, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats such as CLA.

8- Avocados. Avocados contain oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat that help to lower cholesterol.

9- Almonds, walnuts, pecans, and other nuts. Almonds and walnuts sit at the top of heap of nutrition. Nuts are high in monounsaturated fats. In addition to their cholesterol-lowering effects, nuts’ reduce heart disease risk due to the antioxidation action of vitamin E.

10- Sprouts. Sprouts are one of the most complete and nutritionally beneficial of all foods. Sprouts preserve our body’s enzymes, which is extremely important. Almost any vegetable or grain can be consumed from sprouts.

11- Tomatoes. Tomatoes are a rich source of several nutrients. They are well known for their high vitamin C content, but also contain significant amount of vitamin A, b vitamins including niacin and riboflavin, magnesium, phosphorous, and calcium. Tomatoes also a good source of chromium, folate, and fiber.

12- Garlic, onions, leeks, and shallots. Garlic and onions is a couple of the best source of uniquely powerful antioxidants.

Note: eating 5-6 small meals per day is much better strategy for getting lean compared to traditional "3 squares".

Above all, remember that these are lifelong habits that'll help you stay fit forever and not short term weight loss quickfixes

good luck.

Hi,

A successful weight loss program must prove to be effective in the short and long-term, without need to endure starvation and without any daily athletic workout. (But taking a light exercise every few days is highly recommended). It must be affordable by all and do not need to pay a monthly fees to use it. In contrast to diet pills regime where you need to buy it on a regular basis and the amount of lose weight will reversed back when you stop consuming it.

I graduated high school at 240 pounds and at 5 foot 3 that made me about as round as I was tall. I was one of those overweight teenagers who ate anything and everything without any regard to the effects it was having on my own body. Therefore, I began the diet pills, which did not work; I ate the special diet foods and even began drinking diet beverages. None of this stuff worked for me, just as it does not work for millions of overweight people. Eating less did not work and I was not one to work out or even get up and do anything remotely related to exercise. I knew I would look silly and it would hurt. I never thought or really cared about the health effects this would have on me, back then.

A year ago after a successful weight loss plan, now at 120 pounds, it is a major difference. I've lost 30 pounds in the first month. The most significant change in my life is the amount of energy I now have and the way my clothes fit loosely. Everyone close to me and people I haven’t seen in a while are amazed and tell me that I look really good. This is a life changing experience for me although at first I was skeptical about the weight loss plan.

Our own metabolism system play a vital part in controlling the amount of body fat burned in the process of providing energy to the body. Knowledge about our own metabolism function is the mother to all weight loss programs. With the knowledge you not only reduce your weight but able to maintain an ideal weight and living a healthy life. The weight loss program has proven to be effective in the short and long-term, without need to endure starvation and without any daily athletic workout. (But taking a light exercise every few days is highly recommended). Best of all you can eat what you most enjoyed without gaining any weight The weight loss program is affordable by all and do not need to pay a monthly fees to use it. In contrast to diet pills regime where you need to buy it on a regular basis and you will gain more weight when you stop taking it.

The success has inspired me to help others and i am sure you won't be disappointed. The link is at the source below and discover how you can become noticeably thinner in 11 days by eating in a way you'll actually enjoy.

These exercises will help you gain some muscle (which weighs more than fat) and will also help you lose weight. The important thing to remember is that you need to take in fewer calories than you burn – use a program like fatsecret.com to keep track of your calories and exercises. If you exercise a lot and eat more because you are hungrier you won't lose any weight at all.

It's easier to avoid eating 200 calories than it is to burn it off.

Will I lose weight by not eating but not exercising?

Ive been trying to lose weight (about 20-30 pounds, i weighed 160~) recently. I dont have a workout machine and its winter out so I havent been doing any jogging/running/cardio workouts but Ive cut my eating down to just eating a small supper at maximum each day. Sometimes I dont eat at all. Ive lost some weight (10 pounds or so) but will I keep losing weight? Will I lose a significant more if I start running/exercising each day?

If you are trying to lose weight there are literally hundreds of ideas out there. In my opinion, the best way, which has been proven time and time again, is a two part method: Eat right and exercise. First, exercise is a no-brainer. You have to burn more calories than you take in for exercise to be considered exercise. How you do it is worth another answer all to itself. So, that brings us to the Eating Right part. If you understand how your body works, you've got a head start on the world. Food is fuel for the body. Once you've accepted that concept as more important than the idea that food is entertainment, then the rest will be relatively easy. If you are American, and I assume you are, the Nutrition Facts label that you find on all foods bought in the U.S. Are the next thing you need to understand. Go grab something from your kitchen (i.e. Jar of peanut butter or a bag of chips…anything with a nutrition label). OK, yeah you need vitamins and minerals and all that. But focus on these three items: FAT, PROTEIN, and CARBOHYDRATES.
Let's take these one at a time:

FAT is basically divided into good fats and bad fats. The body needs good fats (mono- and poly-unsaturateds). You'll find these in stuff like olives and avocados where the bad fat is minimal if not nonexistent. The bad fats are your saturated and trans fats that you'll find in meats and oils. If you are trying to lose weight, keep these to an absolute minimum. My suggestion (based on a 1500-2000 calorie diet) is to limit yourself to no more than 15g of saturated fat per day. This is hard to do if you're used to eating fast food. It's also hard to do if you drink whole milk, eat cheese (even the 2% variety), and eat fried foods. All of these are high in bad fats. The good news is that you can substitute your diet to eat the very things you like to eat but with better ingredients. If you eat cheese, buy fat free. If you drink milk, buy skim. Slowly take yourself down from whole milk or 2% to 1% before going skim/fat free if the transition is too radical to do all at once. If you eat a lot of ground beef, use the extra lean variety (96% fat free/4% fat), or substitute lean ground turkey instead. Do whatever you have to do to get the bad fat grams down to less than 15 per day.

PROTEIN: The building block of nutrition (aside from your vitamins and minerals) is protein. You need it strengthen your muscles and it will be essential with your exercise routine. Without protein, you can't build muscle tone or lean body mass. And guess what? Just having lean body mass (muscles) allows your body to burn more calories even when you are sleeping. Therefore, you are able to lose weight (bad weight, that is) just by sleeping. But, you have to exercise!! Don't forget that. You can find foods that are high in protein but also high in saturated fat, so be careful. Stick to poultry (chicken, turkey), fish (tuna is a great source), and beans. Don't fry your meats because if you do, you just added a bunch of bad fat to your otherwise healthy protein filled meal. Instead, grill, broil, or bake. You can do this! Don't forget to exercise to exponentially reap the rewards of consuming protein.

CARBS. In my opinion, the no-carb diet is crap, because you need carbs for energy, especially because you are exercising! That's right, you can't forget you are supposed to be exercising. The trick is choosing the good carbs. You'll see on your nutrition label Total Carbohydrates and Sugars. Sugars should be kept to a minimum and should be avoided within hours of going to sleep. The calories associated with them get stored (for energy) but are not easily burned when it comes time to burn them. Therefore, it's harder to lose the weight associated with them. That's why it's not good to eat lots of candy, cookies, and ice cream that have a lot of sugar. The other kinds of carbs (complex carbohydrates) are essential. You can get these from grains and potatoes. Good stuff!!

Now that you have a brief understanding of these three nutrition components, time to get to it. Not as easy as it sounds? That's because, you're human. If you treat your body right (and I mean very right, by limiting your saturated and trans fats, limiting your sugar carbs, and eating plenty of protein), then you deserve a day when you can eat whatever you want. The body has cravings and you should be able to fulfill these cravings IF you can stand to wait until the end of the week. I call this one day of decadence your cheat day. After 12 weeks of exercising and eating right in this manner, you'll get to the point where you don't even crave the bad stuff anymore.

For more on this method, I encourage you to check out www.bodyforlife.com. The principals I wrote about are spelled out in greater detail there. Consult your doctor before drastically changing any diet or exercise routine. Good luck!

Hi. Losing weight quickly is not a good thing to do! As, when you finish your 'crash diet' and eat normally again, you will put all the weight on you lost and usually more!. So either go to a Slimming Club, where they can sort out a quick loss menu or perhaps you don't need to lose weight, just tone up. Why don't you go to a gym where they will tell you if you do need to lose this weight or just that you need to tone up. Please don't crash diet.

How can a lose weight quickly?

I desperately need to lose weight im too embarrassed to go out in public , i need help please how do i lose weight!

Yes losing weight too quickly can turn around and come back double. Im not sure of your height, weight or age, but the younger you are, you will burn calories and drop weight pretty fast. Just be careful and make sure you are putting carbs and protein in your body. If not make sure you are taking a multi-vitamin to keep yourself healthy. One should have a diet of about 1000 at the lowest in my opinion being a Fitness Trainer in the Military. The fastest one of my people have lost weight was 20lbs in 1.5 months. They have managed to keep it off 6 months later, so that is good..

I'm 15 and way around 190 pounds. I'm overweight and was even on the verge of getting diabetes. I've signed up for Krav Maga and have been doing that for about 4 weeks. I drink about four cups of water a day, but i don't work out often. I have a gym in my complex and went there a few times but i got lazy and i suffer with depression (Not getting help for it yet) and it's hard for me to get out the bed sometimes. I just want to know how to lose weight and keep it off. I tend to eat a full plate of food whenever i get it, but I've been trying to reduce the amount i eat. For breakfast i usually eat pancakes, bacon, or waffles. I drink soymilk very vanilla whenever i make anything with milk and i tend to drink it fairly often too.

Fasting does not cause weight loss – sure you might starve yourself, and lose a few pounds, but it is all WATER, and as soon as you eat again, the weight will come back on.. The reason for this is that when we fast, our brain thinks there is a famine, that you are starving.. So it slows down the metabolism, and hangs onto every single calorie for dear life – because it is trying to save your life! It doesn't realize that you are doing this on purpose. Then when you eat again, finally, it stores it as fat, just in case there is a famine again.. So you end up GAINING weight from fasting..

Fasting is GOOD for detox and healing, just not for weightloss..

Okay, so how to lose weight – you have to eat to lose weight – eating revs the metabolism, and that helps you burn off calories.. It is all a matter of WHAT you eat.

Sugar and simple carbs store as fat.
Simple carbs are: pasta, bread (even whole wheat), white potatoes, sugar, grains
I don't expect you to believe me, I expect you to read about this. Google 'fat doesn't make you fat' and you will see that eating high fat foods literally burns the fat off your body, as long as you are avoiding sugar and other simple carbs.. Check out the paleo diet for ideas
I am not in any way suggesting that you give up all carbs – we NEED carbs for energy, but the ones you want are complex carbs – veggies.

Although this is easy to explain and understand, it is HARD to follow at first. The reason is this, we are creatures of habit – habits are hard to break – ask an alcoholic or smoker! But the good news is that habits can be replaced! And once you have a new habit, that will be hard to break..
In the beginning, you have to think of this as full-out war.. Give up those waffles, and your mind IS going to rebel, big time.. Stand firm, and (seriously, this is no joke) talk it down.. "NO. You can whine and scream all you like, I am not eating a waffle for breakfast". But be kind to yourself, no name calling, no bullying yourself into submission, because that causes depression! Give yourself little pep talks – " Look, I know you want that pancake, but we have a long range goal here, and I gotta stay strong."
If you are serious about losing weight, you are going to have to be tough and STAY tough, and determined. This is where people fail.. They start out good, for a day or two, but then, they give in to their cravings.. They want to lose weight, but they aren't willing to do what it takes.. – it is really your mindset that determines if you lose or gain..
Ditch the soymilk – loaded with sugar, right?
What you can eat – nuts are a good fat, loaded with health benefits and shut off the appetite switch..
So breakfast could be yogurt, fruit, handful of nuts (no more than a handful at a time though, and avoid peanuts, they are not a nut, they are a legume and don't cause weight loss).
Snack – unlimited veggies cooked or raw – I cut up a ton of veggies in the morning and take them with me wherever I go – I eat them constantly :-) Step out of your comfort zone and try a few new veggies – I like raw beets – they are sweet and crunchy (buy small ones, which are more nutritious than large, old ones, and peel them, and cut in chunks). I like carrot and celery sticks, and mushrooms..
Lunch ideas – cheese, seeds (sesame seeds, sunflower seeds) are high in protien, but lower in fat than nuts.. So, you don't really have to be careful with how many you eat.. Meat, coconut milk
look for recipes on the paleo diet sites..
Dinner – give quinoa a try – quinoa (keen-wa) is a seed, that cooks in 12 minutes and tastes like rice.. Veggies, meat, fruit..
I'd say 'best of luck' but there is no LUCK involved – it all comes down to how tough are you willing to be?! Once you get in the habit of being tough, that habit will make dieting easier :-)

How do I do to lose weight fast?

I'm the fattest girl in my class and I'd like to lose weight. How can I lose weight fast?

Losing weight too fast is harmful for your body and even if you are able to do it, you will most likely gain the weight back because it's not a sustainable method.

Honestly, you've got to eat well and exercise. Make sure to get your heart rate up for at least 20 minutes everyday. Give yourself small goals, especially if you are not used to exercising. Find something that gets you moving that you also enjoy- hiking, biking, rock climbing, soccer, swimming, etc…it doesn't have to be just going to the gym and running on a treadmill, that gets boring! Or try a group dance class, having the support of others really helps.

Eat a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean protein like fish and poultry. Cut back on red meat, and processed foods like fast food, and foods with a lot of preservatives.

To help yourself from making poor food choices, don't let yourself get too hungry! When you get too hungry you automatically want foods high in sugar and fat because it will give your body a lot of calories. Keep lots of healthy and filling snacks handy so you aren't starving and reaching for the potato chips.

Stop eating before you get full. It takes a while for your brain to catch up with your stomach, so eat slowly and when your reach the point were you are content, but not quite full stop, About 15 or 20 minutes later you will feel full. Also, the slower you eat the more time your body has to tell your brain when to stop so you are less likely to over eat.

And the last food rule. Don't eat anything your grandmother wouldn't recognize as food. If you can't pronounce the ingredient, it's probably not a good choice.

There are a lot of resources out there. I think Http://www.self.com/ usually has some good ones. Get support from other people who are trying to loose weight as well. It really helps to feel like you've got allies.

Please don't do anything stupid like fasting or only eating celery, it really wont benefit you long term and only leads to a negative association with food. I hope you always take care of and love your body, no matter what size.

1. Drink plenty of water. First how to lose weight fast tip is that our body needs a lot of water so give in to water. Water is not just way to flush out toxin but if you have more water in your body you will generally feel healthier and fitter. This it self will discourage any tendency to gorge. The best thing about water is that is has no calories at all.

2. Start your day with a glass of water. As soon as you wake up, gulp down a glass of cool water. It’s a wonderful way to start you day and you only need a lesser quantity of your breakfast drink after that. A glass of water lets out all your digestive juices and sort of lubricates the insides of your body. You may have your morning cup of tea but have it after a glass of water. It is good for you.

3. Drink a glass of water before you start the meal.Water naturally needs some space so that you feel fuller without actually having to stuff yourself.

4. Have another glass of water while you are having the meal. Again this is another great how to lose weight fast super tip and a way of making yourself full, another great weight loss tips, so that you can actually rise from the table eating less but feeling full just the same. Instead of drinking it one gulp, take sips after each morsel. It will help the food to settle faster so that you get that feeling that you are full faster.
SIDENOTE: Water is such a remarkable thing, but seldom do we give it the credit that it deserves. Did you know that over 66% of your body weight is nothing but water’ It’s amazing! Water also plays a vital role in weight control, which is why I donated so much space to it, above.

5. Stay away from sweetened bottle drinks, especially sodas. Hey all those colas and fizzy drinks are sweetened with sugar and sugar means calories. The more you can cut out on these sweetened bottle drinks, the better for you. So if you must drink sodas, then stick to diet sodas.

6. Include in your diet things that contain more water like tomatoes and watermelons. These things contain 90 to 95 % water so that there is nothing that you have to lose by feasting on them. They fill you up without adding to the pounds.

7. Eat fresh fruit instead of drinking fruit juice. Juice is often sweetened but fresh fruits have natural sugars. When you eat fruit, you are taking in a lot of fiber, which is needed by the body, and fruits of course are an excellent source of vitamins.

8. If you do have a craving for fruit juice then go for fresh fruit juice instead of these that contain artificial flavors and colors. Or even better, try making your own fruit juice taking care not to sweeten it with too many calories.

Loads of exercise, such as cycling, running, loads of exercises, look them up on google!

Questions and Answers

Does dieting make you lose weight just in the stomach?

Does going on a diet make you lost weight in the face, legs, arms or just in the stomach area?

No. Dieting causes you to lose weight all over. But not necessarily in proportion. So if you have a big butt and a big gut, you may lose more gut than butt. Or maybe thigh, even if you don't really need to. It's not very controllable, even with exercise. Which, by the way, you don't need to do to lose weight. You should exercise, but it's mainly for all over health and not weight loss. It takes a lot of exercise to burn calories. Most people don't have that much time available to devote to it.

How to lose some weight? Diet pills?

If anyone has taken any diet pills i would like to know what your results were. I eat healthy and exercise but im still not losing any weight so im thinking about starting on a diet pill.

DO DIET PILLS WORK————————————————

Some diet pills are indeed crap, but there are a few that are really good i dont really care what anyone else says about them because the chances are that they are not using it properly, you can't take a pill and then expect to wake up tomorrow 5lbs lighter. It's NOT going to happen but if you follow a good diet or workout plan then they work great. I've used only a few products and they have worked GREAT, i've lost fat with ease and so have the other guys and girls in the gym, its safe no side affects. One of them im about to recommend is approved by the FDA also.

I don't know if any pharmacies stock them but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here on the offical site

Acia Berry
Http://www.acaiberryselect.com/?aid=8531…

Alli Http://www.healthbuy.com/product/site/al…

In the mean time use this system to lose weight at the same time and benefit from the diet pill they way you should.

—Diet—-

You need to get both of them right, now your diet should work like this… You should be eating a meal every 2-3 hours but not a junk food snack/meal. When i say meal i mean something which is healthy ie you might have some pasta with tuna, or a quick banana as a snack. The foods you eat should be COMPLEX carbs ie pasta, brown bread etc etc. You also want to try and get as much fruit + ved in a day. Make sure you have a good amount of protein throughout your meals.

Now you also need to work out your Basal Metabolic Rate, this simply tells you how many calories you burn a day, you need to find out how much your actually eating now its most likely to be in excess if it is you want to TRY and cut down 500 calories and stick to your new total amount. This shouldnt be hard because you will be eating Complex carbs which are just as filling but have a lower calorie count but are better for you than empty calories which are found in simple carbs.

—Workout—

Here are some tips for you

Okay now for your workout what you want to be doing is concentrating on many different types of cardio exercises. These are your jogging, swimming basically anything that makes you sweat and makes your heart pound. If you can join a gym as they have a lot of cardio machines there. Now once you get in to the hang of say jogging, what i mean by this is say you jog 20 mins everyday eventually you will come to a point where your not losing anymore weight this is like hitting a brick wall, this means you need to up the game, start jogging that extra five minutes a day, start taking that one less suagr in your cup of tea.

The most important tip to remember is to vary your cardio routines. Your body gets used to the same cardio routines done over and over. By varying your routine, your body will have to adjust, and thus causes a rise in the metabolic rate, thereby burning calories faster. But how many people do you see walking everyday in your neighborhood, or on the same treadmill or elliptical machine at the gym, and their body never seems to be changing. They do all that work and see no visible results. That is because the conventional wisdom is to get some form of cardio 3-5 days a week at 30 – 60 minutes.

A better alternative is high impact interval training. High impact training could include doing a warm-up of 3-4 minutes on a treadmill, followed by 1 minute at 8 mph, then 1 1/2 minutes at 4 mph, then run 10 mph for 1 minute, then walk at 4 mph for 1 1/2 minutes. You can repeat this 3 or 4 times to get a very effective, and not boring cardio workout.

You can also incorporate running or walking stairs, or do short sprints. The sprints need not be long (20,30, 50 yards), and you rest by walking back to the starting point. These are very effective. Have you ever seen a fat person running the 100 yard dash at the Olympics?

And often overlooked is the jump rope. Do short bursts of jump rope at a brisk pace with some faster paced, or double jumps, or criss crosses mixed in.

By applying these cardio tips on how to burn calories fast, you should be able to jump start your metabolism, and make progress towards your fitness goals

I can guarantee you that you will lose weight i have had to both GAIN and LOSE weight as i was an ex boxer I assure you that this will work, but the most important tip is motivation from YOU!

Best Of Luck

You can lose weight on any diet,
or no diet at all.
It's more about portion size than content.
Eat only when you are hungry. Not just
because it sounds good.
Then eat slowly and only until you are
satisfied. We have a tendency to eat
fast and until we are full to bursting.

I spent many, many years on diet programs
and never lost a pound. In fact, I continued to
gain year after year.
Finally I gave up. Now I eat what ever I feel like.
I just don't eat WHEN ever I feel like. But only
when I am truly hungry. And only until I am
satisfied, not stuffed full.
I also got rid of the scales. I drove myself nuts
getting on and off day in and day out expecting
results. I realized it's not about the numbers.
It's about how I feel health-wise and how my
clothes fit.
I have lost 50 pounds in the last year or so.
I don't diet or exercise. I look and feel better
than I have in many years. I am 56 years old.
Another 15 pounds and I will be back in the
size clothes I wore 30 years ago.

Don't over think this diet business. (and it IS
a business)
Good Luck.
